Karl Strauss Big Barrel DIPA Beer Review by Beerichituba

After my short trip to San Diego, I returned to my home in San Francisco looking forward to trying my newly purchased beers.  I brought home 2 Karl Strauss beers (Big Barrel Double IPA and 21st Anniversary Ale) and Victory Brewing’s Storm King.  The first one I opened up was the Big Barrel Double IPA.  As a hop-head I was getting giddy about trying this thayng. I purchased the Big Barrel Double IPA at BevMo, which is a huge chain liquor store here on the west coast.  I was hoping to purchase it directly from the brewhouse restaurant but BevMo works.  I know there’s this stigma floating around about BevMo because of their tendency to improperly store beers.  But shoot, if you can get AleSmith’s Speedway Stout from there, you have to respect them.  Ain’t nothing from with BevMo.  Anyways, onto the beer. Here is a quick video that BeerichiTuba filmed while visiting the beer mecca that is San Diego. He got to visit the smaller Karl Straus brew pub where he had some amazing sample and then they move on to 2 very cool looking San Diego beer bars!
